Greenpark Guide to Fireworks and Floral Events in the GTA

Before you know it, summer will be well under way and an event which officially welcomes the first long weekend is Victoria Day on May 20th. Get in the spirit and join your community for a perfect opportunity to round up the family and get outside for the day and evening. Below is a list of the GTA’s best firework show locations lighting up the sky on Victoria Day long weekend.

We’ve also compiled a list of the best floral hot spots in the GTA that will make great destinations for a photo-op or just a leisurely afternoon walk. Florals and nature can uplift the spirit and take your worries away. Be sure to visit all or any of these great locations this spring and summer for a nice break in your busy schedules.

Toronto Botanical Garden - Located at 777 Lawrence Avenue East, this natural oasis is designed to educate and inspire. It offers several tours and horticulture programs to fully immerse you in nature.

Toronto Flower Market - Situated at 1001 Queen Street West, this quaint event supports locally grown flowers and plants and strives to create a passionate local flower community!

Kortright Centre for Conservation - Not just a walk in the park! Just 10 minutes north of Toronto, in Vaughan, this centre hosts a variety of environmental education workshops for children and adults. It’s home to many wonderful trails lined with budding Ontario wildflowers and fully grown trees.

High Park - This popular spring-time spot is Toronto’s largest park. It’s full of beautiful Japanese cherry blossom trees that create a vast canopy overhead. There is a petting zoo, pond, and beautiful foot bridge that is perfect for those special occasion photos.

Terre Bleu Lavender Farm - This unique destination, located at 2501, Sideroad 25, Campbellville, in Milton, invites you into vast fields of captivating lavender flowers. Not only will you get to capture some memorable photos, but your senses will be treated to beautiful sights and the calming fragrance of lavender.

May is also prime time for the opening of many Ontario provincial parks. One of our favourites is Bronte Creek Provincial Park, located in Oakville. It’s home to Canada’s largest outdoor swimming pool and is teeming with great trails for biking and hiking.
